Peneeda View Hotel

My first ever trip overseas was to Bali a long time ago as a little girl with my mother and brother, it started my love of travel and the itchy feet I have had ever since. On that trip we stayed in a bungalow in family friendly Sanur so it was only fitting that on this trip to Bali (my first there with my young son) we stayed at the same bungalows in Sanur; The Peneeda View. We spent 6 lovely nights at the Peneeda View.

Firstly, Sanur was a welcome change for us coming from other areas of Bali. I have to say I fell in love with the footpaths instantly, there is a flat footpath that runs all along the beachfront. Bali’s footpaths are a bit of a nightmare in places for those trying to negotiate them with a pram so a level, safe footpath was a very welcome attraction. We were able to walk for miles every morning, it was footpath heaven! The Peneeda View is set right on the beach front of Sanur beach.

The Peneeda View is made up of a variety of different styles of bungalows spread throughout lush tropical grounds. Our group had a basic Club Lumbung room and a sea side bungalow both of which are great, there are also 2 bedroom family bungalows and villa rooms available. Most of the rooms have a balcony area or a small lounge perfect for sitting and relaxing while the little ones have a nap. The rooms are quiet, cozy and clean with lovely bathrooms. They are wonderfully air conditioned and each room has a small fridge perfect for hydralyte, bottled water and any other essentials.

Children were really well received at the resort. We had requested a baby cot for our toddler and on arrival it was all beautifully set up in our room complete with linen. Our family always felt welcome which is wonderful when travelling with a toddler. The housekeeping staff were excellent when it came to working around our little mans sleeping times etc.

The hotel has 3 pools, a bar, a beach front restaurant and room service is also available. There are a number of western dishes on the menu which are suitable for kids such as pizza, meat pie, pasta and smoothies. Breakfast is huge with choices between pastries, eggs, fresh fruit, juices, cereals with plenty of choices suitable for kids (but if your child only eats cereal you may like to stop buy the nearby Hardy’s supermarket and pick up their favourite from home like Weetbix or similar as the Peneeda cereals seem to be mostly Milo flavoured or an equivalent of Coco pops). As is common in Bali there was no highchair available at the restaurant, the Little Beetle chair we took with us was invaluable and got a lot of use!!

There are an abundance of shops, restaurants and money exchangers within walking distance of the Peneeda View Hotel, including a Hardys supermarket which sells Rafferty’s Garden & Heinz Baby foods, popular nappy brands, baby formulas and toiletries. The upstairs department store levels are also great for a few pool toys and cheap kids clothing.

Overall we found the Peneeda View a really relaxing place to stay, the 3 pools meant we could choose a quiet one for our toddler. None of the pools were crowded and the staff were friendly and caring. It was lovely sitting at the beach front restaurant watching the fishermen. The Peneeda, was a really relaxing destination and an excellent place to end our Balinese holiday. We loved how we could choose to be in the hustle and bustle of Kuta after a quick taxi ride, just wander through the small beach markets along Sanur beach or do nothing and lounge by the pools of the hotel.
